Where are they now?

Thanks and kudos to AQL for the SMS to email service that made this possible!

Here are the latest blogs from all the teams on the rally. Only teams that have included location data in their blogs appear on the map, and their location is the last one we know about; having said that, we do try to add their location if they mention where they are!

Mon 16th June 2014

Greetings from grindelwald, in the shadow of the eiger. First 1000km or so down, no major incidents! So far we've found the centre of Luxembourg (no mean feat!), seen some bears in bern and enjoyed belgiums fully lit and even more fully potholed motorway. Photos attached are of Judith here in grindelwald.

Btw the other photo (the one down in the valley) is from grindelwald this morning as the clouds cleared. The jury's still out as to whether the peak is actually the eiger or just one of its neighbours. Still, we thought it looked pretty cool.

Hope you're enjoying work - we'll spare you all a brief thought! :P  read more »

We're still on track to set off in just under two weeks, on Monday 16th June.

We're still undecided whether we will cross from Hull or from Dover to Calais, however either way we'll be keeping a blog throughout our trip (no doubt the posts will be quite brief)!

Our vehicle is now ready to go! We've just received the new registration number from the DVLA and are now transferring the car onto UK plates, so it's completely legit on British roads now :)

We are still waiting for our visas to come back, but when they do we are ready to go. Our intended departure date is the 16th June.

We now have our ride for the journey. It's from Greece, and it's a 2005 Renault Scenic 1.6 Petrol.

So, here we are, setting everything up to really make it happen in July. We have been thinking about it a lot and now we are getting closer and closer towards the start. When setting up our timeframe we noticed quite a lot of things have to been upfront. Visa's, fundraising, publicity, the route, and so on.. It is fun though, to zoom out on Google Maps and seeing the route which covers a big part of our globe. Knowing we will do this in half-an-year makes us very happy. We will be doing this for many good reasons and that is giving us a lot of energy.  read more »
