Gorak Shep, 5180m

Stunning hike across the Cho La Pass yesterday. Pre dawn start, a really good rock, ice n snow scramble up to the pass at 5400m and walk down over a snow covered glacier. Incredible clear views of the surrounding peaks this morning, many seeming to tower over us almost close enough to touch, on the hike into the Khumbu valley to join the masses on the upper EBC trek route. Great company from Philipp a German dentist and 3 lovely austrian girls, Carmen, Petra & Iris!
