Pete (and Mongolian hat) at Mongolian Tsagaan Sar 2009
Go Help is very sad to share with you that Pete Barnett, a valued volunteer for the charity, passed away on Thursday 5th April.
Pete joined Go Help at the beginning of 2008 and helped the charity launch its first fundraising event, the Mongolia Charity Rally. His tireless work in building and maintaining Go Help's technical systems and website helped the charity to get to where it is today. Pete also went above and beyond the call of duty, maintaining regular contact with teams while on their various rallies across the globe, and even texting them with advice when they got stuck at far flung borders. In recognition of Pete's outstanding support for Go Help, Pete was appointed to the Board of Trustees of Go Help in 2011.
Go Help has lost a very important member of the team but more importantly we have lost a good friend who will be sadly missed.
To honour Pete's dedication to the charity, Go Help is dedicating it's Mongolian mobile library project to his name. Pete gave the idea his blessing in January.
Should you wish to make a donation in honour of Pete's work for Go Help please consider making a donation to Ashgate Hospice in Chesterfield. You can donate online here.
If you would like to send any wishes to Pete’s family please email info@gohelp.org.uk and we will pass your message on.
